Frequently Asked Questions

WE ARE NEW. WHAT’S THE BEST WAY TO CONNECT INTO DENTON BIBLE STUDENT MINISTRIES?

We have an AMAZING Connex Team that is ready and excited to welcome your student at every service. Just have your student look for the Connex Booth or a member of our Connex Team (they’re the ones in the green, blue, and purple Connex shirts). We know how intimidating it can be to come for the first time. But we will connect your student with someone to welcome them in, get them plugged into a Huddle Group and make them feel welcomed!

WHY ARE MIDDLE & HIGH SCHOOL SEPARATE ON WEDNESDAY NIGHTS?

God is doing something so special in the lives of our middle and high school students at Denton Bible Church. Every student who attends Elevate on Wednesday Night will get connected into a Huddle Group (small group). In order to allow every Huddle Group a place to meet, we have split Middle School and High School students during Elevate. Middle School students meet in the Gym at 7 P.M. for a quick 15-minute game and then they are dismissed upstairs to their Huddle Group rooms while High School meets in the Auditorium for a large-group teaching time. At 8 PM, the roles are switched and Middle School has large-group teaching time in the Auditorium and High School has Huddle Groups upstairs.

AS A PARENT, CAN I COME CHECK OUT DBSM?

We are very intentional about who comes into the SMC on a Sunday and Wednesday for the safety of all the students. Each leader who is present and serving has taken proper steps to serve with us. However, if you want to come and check things out, please contact Kyle Phipps or Sarah Beth Hudspeth beforehand so they can host you on that day.

WHAT IS THE BEST WAY TO GET UPDATES ON WHAT IS HAPPENING AT DBSM?

The best way to receive updates from us is to follow DBSM on all of our social media sites – like FacebookTwitter, and Instagram. In regards to event updates, once you register for an event like 1320, Fallapalooza, Information Overload, Sportsworld, Great and Ultimate Adventure trips, or the Trinidad and Austria Mission Trips you will be place on that events email list by our Office Coordinator, Morgan Sain. Email is our best form of communication. If you need to contact any of our staff members, their email addresses are listed on our staff page.

HOW DO I BECOME A LEADER FOR DBSM?

Currently, we are seeking adult leaders for our student Huddle Groups. If you are interested in serving in DBSM, please contact our Guys and Girls Ministry Coordinators, Kyle Phipps and Sarah Beth Hudspeth. Leaders will have to undergo an extensive background check and meeting with our DBSM Ministry Coordinators before being approved as a leader.

HOW DO I REGISTER FOR EVENTS?

To register for an event like 1320, Fallapalooza, Information Overload, Great and Ultimate Adventure trips, or the Trinidad and Austria Mission Trips simply find their related post on our homepage which will detail all required registration details. To register your child for our Sportsworld camp, please visit sportsworldcamp.org. Registration for Sportsworld goes live on Easter Sunday every year.
