Howdy DBSM Families,
I wanted to reach out and provide a new update in regards to our weekly Hangar Nights.
First off, the first two weeks of Hangar Nights have been amazing! We’ve seen a great turn-out of students and have made some new connections and strengthened relationships. It has also been so fun to process with students about what they’ve been learning during this time and how they’ve seen God working.
With that said, due to the increase in COVID-19 cases in the state of Texas and the city ordinance passed by the Denton City Council on Friday, we have elected to suspend all remaining Hangar Nights until further notice.
We will continue to monitor the situation on a weekly basis and will send updates to you accordingly.
This decision, although extremely difficult in many ways, came easier for us to make because of the state we feel that Denton county is currently in. As always, our students’ safety and wellness is our number one priority.
At DBSM, we also always try to follow DISD in regards to school closures and holidays, and now with safety measures concerning the virus. Recently, there have been more and more cases of students in the Denton-area contracting COVID-19 and that has led most school’s to postpone their summer workouts to later dates in July – out of an abundance of caution.
We know that this is a stressful and unique time we are all going through, so we appreciate your patience and understanding with us!
Our team is now working on how to move forward from here and finding some creative alternatives to reach our Denton-area students for Christ.
If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to reach out to us.
